Pourvoirie Mitchinamecus

History

The history of the outfitter dates back to the 1930s, when Mr. Matt, holder of the territory's operating permit, demarcated and operated this territory under the name ¨Iredale Club¨. The cabins built there are made of logs, all located on the banks of a lake that bears his name. This cottage is assigned numerous lakes and an exclusive area for hunting and fishing. The development of the territory continues in turn by Messrs. Maurice Lajeunesse and Claude Lavigne.

Established as an outfitter in the second part of the 1970s by the Government of Quebec, this magnificent territory of 182 square kilometers is called ¨Pourvoirie des Cent lacs Nord¨. Over the years, its fame has been built around its magnificent catches of walleye, trout and gigantic moose plumes.

The territory was entrusted to new owners in 2005. The new management gave it the name ¨Pourvoirie Mitchinamecus¨, in homage to the prestigious and famous Mitchinamecus River, which it honors with its course over more than 35 kilometers.
