The Mitchinamecus River originates from Head Lake in the Parent region. It spreads out its magnificent rapids and its most beautiful pools all along the Parent road, and more particularly along the outfitter, before flowing into the reservoir of the same name to become the Lièvre river, which flows into the Ottawa River, more than 325 kilometers from Head Lake.

Sanctuary of Trou de Saint-Jude at kilometer 110, fishing is from the last Friday in May to August 14 inclusive.
